Full story

My name is Anston. I come from a small village called Kibeta in kagera. Since I was young my dream has been to become a lawyer so I can defend the weak. After finishing high school, I was blessed to be selected to join the University of Dar es Salaam to study Law. My mother sold her 2 goats to buy me clothes and a bag for university. The first semester was good. I studied hard and the lecturers knew me by name. But in the 10th week of the second semester, I received a call from home. My father was sick, my siblings were sent home for school fees, and we had no money for food. I tried everything, but the tuition of $1,200 and living costs were too much. With tears, I deferred my studies. Today I work as a bodaboda rider in Dar es Salaam. But I have not given up. My law books are still under my bed. I believe: *"This is only one semester. One day I will go back. Poverty will not bury my dream."* Now I have an opportunity to receive *$4,600*. I want to use part of it to return to school, and the rest to give back to the people who are struggling just like my family did. BUDGET BREAKDOWN: 1. Education - University Tuition: $1,200 This will pay for my semester tuition. Completing my degree in Law will equip me to fight for justice and to help more vulnerable people in the long term. 2. Clothes for Orphan Children: $1,000 This will provide school uniforms, shoes, and basic clothes for about 40-50 orphan children. Many of them go to school without proper clothing. This support will restore their dignity and confidence. 3. Wheelchairs for People with Disabilities: $1,200 This will buy 3-4 quality wheelchairs. A wheelchair gives a person with disability mobility, independence, and access to hospital, school, and church. 4. Medical Support for Children and Elders: $1,200 This will help cover hospital bills, medicine, and treatment for about 8-12 children and elderly people who cannot afford medical care. *Total: $4,600* - Every dollar will be used to transform lives. *CONCLUSION* This funding will do two things: 1. It will restart my education so I can become the lawyer I was called to be. 2. It will bring immediate relief to orphans, people with disabilities, and the sick in my community. I am asking you to invest in one young man’s dream, and through that dream, touch hundreds of lives. *"Today’s poverty will not bury my dream."
