Help a Single Mom Get Her Car Back From Impound
I’m a single mom to a 1-year-old son getting back on our feet after homelessness. My car was impounded, and I need it for work and my son. The fees increase $102 every day, so any help—even a few dollars—means so much.

Full story
Hi, I’m a working single mom to a 1-year-old little boy, and I’m asking for help getting my car out of impound. My son and I have been experiencing homelessness for over a year, and after a long journey, we are finally transitioning into stable housing. Just as things were starting to come together for us, my car was impounded because of expired registration. I have worked through the other issues that were preventing me from getting my car back, but the impound bill is now the last major obstacle. The current amount is over $1,100, and unfortunately the tow yard is adding $102 every day that the car remains there. My car is extremely important to us. I need it to get to and from work, transport my son, handle appointments and errands, and continue getting us settled into our new home. Losing it would create another major setback when we are finally beginning to regain some stability. I normally try to handle things on my own, so asking strangers for financial help is not easy for me. I simply don’t have enough to cover this unexpected expense before the daily fees make it even harder to get my car back. Any amount helps—even $5, $10, or $20 gets me closer. All donations will go toward getting my vehicle released from the tow yard. If I’m able to get the amount lowered before paying, I will update this post accordingly. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping a mom who is just trying to keep moving forward for her little boy. ❤️
