Family of 4 Trying to Rebuild After Losing Our Home

About a month ago, my husband, our two daughters, and I lost our home after being evicted. I never imagined I would be in a position where I would have to ask strangers for help, but right now I am putting my pride aside for my family. Everything changed incredibly quickly. We went from having our own home and our girls having their own rooms, beds, belongings, and routines to packing up our lives and putting what we could save into storage. We are now temporarily staying with family. I am extremely grateful that we have somewhere safe to sleep, but it is not a permanent solution, and our biggest goal is to get our family stable and into a home of our own again. The hardest part has been our daughters. School has started, and I’m trying my hardest to keep their lives as normal as possible while everything around us feels uncertain. Every morning I get them up, get them dressed, pack their lunches, and we make the long drive to their school in our one car. They still need their mom to make things feel okay, even on the days when I don’t know how I’m going to make things okay. Right now, we don’t have steady income. I am actively applying for jobs that can work around school drop-off and pickup, and my husband is working to bring income into our household as well. We are doing everything we can to rebuild. We aren’t asking someone else to fix our lives—we just need some help getting through the space between losing everything and becoming stable again. Our goal is $5,000. The money would help cover our immediate necessities, including groceries, gas for the daily school commute, storage for our belongings, transportation expenses, bills, and other basic needs while we work toward steady employment and permanent housing. When you have almost nothing coming in, even small expenses become emergencies. A tank of gas matters. Groceries matter. Keeping our belongings in storage matters. Right now, having a little breathing room would mean we could focus more energy on rebuilding instead of constantly wondering how we’re going to cover the next expense. I know $5,000 is a lot to ask for, and I don’t expect one person to provide it. If someone can give $5, $10, $20, or anything at all, I will be incredibly grateful. Every donation gets us a little closer. This past month has been one of the hardest periods of our lives. There have been a lot of tears, fear, embarrassment, and moments when I have wondered how we are going to get through this. But we’re still trying. I want my daughters to eventually look back on this time and know that even when our family lost our home and life became incredibly difficult, their parents didn’t give up. I’m not asking anyone to rescue us. I’m asking for a bridge from where we are now to where we’re working so hard to be. If you choose to help our family, thank you. I truly mean that. We have one car, a long daily commute getting our daughters to and from school, and no steady income at the moment. I’m trying to make sure we have enough gas to get through the coming days and enough food for our family. Even $5 or $10 genuinely helps us right now.
